whenever im doing anything a little stressfull to my pc (eg a really rubbish game)

my fans go into overdrive

i used speedfan and it ses i have 4 fans running (i guess case fans)
how do i know which is fan1 2 3 or 4?

first 3 run at around 1000rpm
but fan 4 runs at 2000 but when gaming as soon as fan 4 goes anywhere above 2000 it is THE loudest fan i have ever heard

just wanted some opinions on if it is that fan and can somone post a program if there is for me to limit that fan?

I thought you could lower the speed of the fan in SpeedFan by turning down the percentage of RPM that it runs at. You can see what percentage it is running at to the left of the temperatures.

I had this problem once, I had to disable the motherboard from automatically trying to adjust the fan speed in the BIOS. Then when I went back to decrease the RPM in SpeedFan, it worked. Also, make sure the fan's connected through PWM and not a molex connector. Also, I'm not surprised there's a lot of noise coming from it, 2686RPM from one fan?!

P.S What on Earth is running at 127C? Or is that just an anomaly (which I'm guessing it is) XD

i have no idea whats going with that 127c lol
and i know 2000 is a lot it was at 3000 erlier...

it wouldnt allow me to change the fan speeds in bios they wer greyed out

Do you not have an option such as Q-Fan control (if I remember correctly), but you're basically looking for an option which automatically configures the fan speeds (in the BIOS), and from my experience, that usually overrides everything else.

What motherboard do you have?

Are you using the stock cooler for your CPU?

If you are then fan 4 is probably the fan on that.

They have to spin pretty fast once you start to work the CPU hard.

yes i am

aslong as it stays below 2500 is pretty quiet but i cant get it to any better programs mayb?

If you get HWMonitor, it tells you the motherboard make at the top of the application.

But like what Surveyor has said, if it is the CPU fan it probably is spinning that fast for a reason. However, when I used the stock cooler for the i7 930, I can't recall it being too loud.
