Ok, after a long time I've had a go at building my own website. Before I post the link, there a some questions I have, which will be more obvious when you look at the site! :)

I cant understand why one of the banners has a blue border! It has the same settings as the other one, which is fine.

The website is pretty well finished APART from the arrangement is completely off! I have no experience with html, so I dont know how to move the banners. I want the final site to be arranged like this:

Template3copy-1.jpg

Heres the link to the site so far :) http://www.danfreemanphotography.com/

Thankyou, I didnt want a particularly complicated page. Mainly because I would have a clue about how to do it lol! but mostly because the page is about my photos, nothing else.

Thanks for the links, i'll have a read and try to make sense of it!
Also, every page has the title 'Simpleviewer', how do I change it to something else?

Very clean design. Only suggestion i would make is adding a frame behind the selected picture. Something like 10-15px or so would give more emphasis in some pictures.

^^ Yeh I know what your saying. I was hoping to be able to add a drop shadow like in the pic in my first post (which was designed in photoshop).
Its something I'll think about soon, but for now Im just happy ive finally got it up and running :)
Thanks for the suggestion.

I think theforce just means a rectangular black border, as if it was in a physical frame. Would offset some of the images very nicely :). That's a fantastic first site, never seen a first attempt that good, great work.

nice site, just wondering how you did it Shadowness? I'm going to start one myself as well and i'm new too, what tools did you use tutorials etc?

Its just a modified simple viewer. I used dreamweaver and photoshop for the design. I dint really use any tutorials, as I had a friend to help me :)

I like the deisgn, very clean and simple.

Also for arranging your page check out this site and do a bit of reading about CSS...

Should give you all the information you need to create a basic site.

Edit:

This page might be more helpful...
