Hey, just would like to know if any could post a possible screenshot as to where I should plug in my HD Audio cable into my mobo, I have the Abit IP-35 pro mobo and Antec p182 case...
Or any guidance would be greeat...
I also have a un-plugged wire coming from the case called 1394 I believe, there is a slot labelled this number next to the PCI-E slot, i assume this goes in there?

My friend also recently built his own pc and installed the new 880 GTS. He is trying to connect it to his HDTV but when he switches the computer on he gets no signal...only TV...
He has the G+B+Y wires in the correct places so any troubleshooting tips for him also?

Thanks in Advance!

I am sure motherboard onboard sound only have either SPDIF or Optical outputs, SPDIF is usually orange (I think) and Optical is well...the optical looking one, usually with a plastic/rubber cover over it.

Get your friend to plug a monitor in aswell as a TV, and see if he can "extend" the desktop on to the TV - how is he connecting it to the TV? G B Y? Whats that? Also if he gets only the TV, then he needs to change the source to the appropriate input.

im the friend, i tried plugging it into my old monitor which only has plug coming out which fits into the graphics card aswell but still no luck.

So the PC turns on and the fans spin up fine? Do you get any beeps? You might want to try reseating the graphics card, if that fails to work you might try taking out all of the ram apart from one stick (try the other sticks one by one if that doesn't work).

I dont think its a monitor/TV issue thats the problem. Do as I have said first.

Modern motherboards have seperate front HD audio connectors (they are 9 pin and on the motherboard PCB, usually near PCI slots). Or at least MSI and Asus ones do.

Well from your original post, it looks like there are 2 people with 2 different systems, of which both have DDR II ram and a PCI-E graphics card. They will do.
