Help with my ipod touch

Well what it is my ipod had the janurary update on it and my music then today i decided to go into settings on the ipod and went into reset and then erase all content and settings because i felt like putting some diffrent music on it not knowing it would also get rid of the janurary software update and don't know how to get it back it is still has the update in the itunes purchce history but as soon as i connect my ipod it asks me to pay for it agian

1) Contact Apple and see what they can do. Dont hold your breath.

2) Buy it again.
