Hi there, I am soon going to upgrade my pc as my frame rate has been getting pretty low in most recent games and I think my Pc is due an upgrade. I want it to be able to play games like The Witcher 3 on ultra with good fps,1080p resolution and many games in the future. I am no expert in computer upgrades and would very much appreciate any suggestions that any of you have.

My Specs at the moment:

CPU: AMD FX(tm)-4100 Quad 4 Processor 3.60 GHz
RAM: 8GB
System Type: 64-Bit Operating System
GPU: MSI Twin Frozr NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 2GB
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P

Hi what budget do you have?

What drives, PSU and case do you have?

What revision of the motherboard do you have? it is printed near the audio section.

No budget really. I'm just looking for suggestions on what you guy's think needs upgraded the most. If I feel it's too expensive then I'll ask for a cheaper alternative. Also what drives do you mean, I have a cd/dvd drive? Thanks for the quick response guys!

Harddrives or SSDs etc?

You need to find out your boards revision to see what CPUs it can take.

If you dont have a good enough PSU then you may not be able to upgrade your GFX card.

You need to answer the questions I have otherwise it is hard to suggest things without knowing the core components of your PC.

PSU will have a label on it, so open the side of the case up.

The boards revision is in the bottom left corner.

Sorry but I am not too familiar with all the PC jargon. What is a 8320E? And how do I or why would I need to update the BIOS? Thanks

The PSU is not good enough.

So that needs to be swapped.

A 8320E is a CPU that fits into your board.

You do not need more RAM.

It is a good performance boost, but the biggest impact that you can do is swap your GFX card for the best you can afford (with the new PSU fitted).

Okay. Thanks for all the help by the way. Is it worth upgrading board for intel? are the results vastly better than AMD Piledriver FX-8 Eight Core 8320E Black Edition 3.20GHz (Socket AM3+) Processor ?
