Help with new build (£500 Budget)

Hello, really nice forum you have here overlclockers :rolleyes:

My computer is ancient now, really ancient and I want to upgrade so I can play Skyrim on ultra graphics etc. I already have a really good monitor and keyboard + mouse. What I need is a new tower

I already have a windows 7 disk too so I don't need to buy one of those with the new build.

My budget is £500, I don't mind going over a bit ;)

Can anybody please guide me in the right direction getting a GOOD gaming tower which can play Skyrim on ultra and Battlefield 3 etc.

Do you happen to have any spare SATA HDDS you can reuse? HDD prices have gone through the roof lately and I think you're going to struggle to meet your expectations at that budget otherwise. Either way you're looking at something along these lines:

Obviously if you do have a spare hard drive then you can drop the Samsung F3 and save £90 off the build. If possible try and keep the i5 2500k since it has an unlocked multiplier and overclocks very well with additional cooling (something else you may want to invest in). The case I listed is a nice budget case but there are others available, just take a look. The Elite 430 will probably need at least one extra 120mm exhaust fan however but they can be had for as little as a few quid. Hope this helps, I've tried to keep as close to budget as possible without sacrificing quality.
 
I don't know about ultra but it should play it on high details quite well, what res do you play at?

would you be thinking about going xfire in the future? if so you'll want a better motherboard and a better psu.

I play 1920 x 1080 res maybe ultra is far fetched with those specs but smooth on high is good enough for me.

That i5 looks amazing though. I will probably get that with a decent cooler so I can overclock it. With a 6870 ati. Would it be better and cheaper for me to buy one of the towers from the site or do it al from scratch?
