Hey guys,

New to this hope you can help :)

Looking for a build for maximum £500 - this is for graphic design i.e. photoshop/illustrator etc rather than gaming specifically. Just the tower and internal components needed, no peripherals or montor

Thanks in advance!

Hold fire before pressing the buy button. Second opinions are worth waiting for as I've been known to make a glaring mistake in the past!

That Seasonic unit is an ancient design, I wouldn't recommend it in any modern build. The Superflower Leadex III is on special at the moment for a fantastic price and is a vastly superior PSU:

Total: £59.99 (includes shipping: £0.00)

If you plan on doing any gaming at all that Nvidia 710 is going to struggle, but it should be fine for most non-gaming use. I have been told that Illustrator makes use of GPU acceleration so you might want to look into that more as the 710 might not hold up in that respect, it isn't an area I'm overly knowledgeable in.

Thanks for the PSU advice that looks great. I was under the impression that you didn't need a dedicated GPU for graphic design but I'm not an expert on the subject- I'm putting this together for a friend so it sounds like I might need to a bit more research. Appreciate the help!

It's a minefield, what with old advice now sometimes not being accurate as software developers upgrade their stuff to make use of GPUs more, and so on.

Good spot on the psu. I hadn't seen it at that price so definitely change up to that.

With design stuff, the gpu might help but it's not the thing driving performance. At the budget you have, getting to a good cpu and ram level is far more important. Plus you've allowed an upgrade path without any real wasted cost.
