So I bought a load of new components for an i7 build over christmas and set it all up but it keeps on freezing randomly and i've been unable to work out where the problem lies yet. It will freeze in the BIOS, when booting up, in Windows 7 or any other OS I stick on there at random intervals. Sometimes after a couple of hours, sometimes within seconds of booting up. Temps seem well under anything that would cause probs, topping out at 60 degrees under prime 95 (which doesn't throw up any errors) So far i've run memtest on the RAM which passed ok, i've tried changing the stock settings and volts but no change. If anyone has bios settings for a Gigabyte ex58-ud3r and ocz 6gb gold RAM (OCZ3G1600LV6GK) they could share i'd be eternally grateful!! If anyone could offer any tips that would be fantastic!
My setup is:
OCZ Gold 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel (OCZ3G1600LV6GK)
Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz
Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard
Saphire 4870 1gb
2 x 320gb Samsung hdds (tried each one individually and even with none plugged in!)
Corsair TX 650W ATX SLi Compliant Power Supply (CMPSU-650TXUK)
Corsair H50 cooler
Thanks very much!
Jon
