hi all,

looking for a new PC, current one is quite old now so want to build from scratch.
Will be mainly used for Gaming, Coding, Photo editing, and 3D modeling.

Budget Max is £1500, ideally would like to be closer to 1K but i know that may be difficult.

Quite fancy following:
GTX 670/680
i5 3570K
Coolmaser HAF, Nvidia edition
XFX 750 watt psu
OCZ vertex 120gb SSD
Seagate Barr green 2TB
DVD RW - May consider Blue Ray player
Corsair Veg red 8GB Dual Memory...

Not sure on Mobo, Asus? Gigabyte?

What you all think of the above? Should i pay the extra ££ for the 680? Should i get a seperate Soundcard? I'll also need a monitor, pref not smaller then 24"

Also quite like the OcUK Tech Labs - Prolimatech Megahalems Rev.C "Overclocker Edition" but its out of stock.

Any advice would be appreciated.

cheers chaps.

To be honest, if I was spending that much I'd want 120 Hz monitor...

Edit: I'd also want Retail CPU for the warranty...

haha oh yeah sorry, I had samsung green in there then re-read the first post, the above is pretty much the spec asked for, but the PSU is on offer and has loads of headroom for SLI in future. The SSD is out of stock at the moment and there are better out there.

Are you going to overclock?
Does it have to be that case?
Does it have to be that RAM?

Those things will dictate the cost of the build dramatically, the RAM and case alone are over £250, and if you're not going to overclock you aren't going to need some huge CPU cooler.

Could spend £1500 much better, tamzzy's spec is awesome for the money and has a bunch of headroom for both overclocking and SLI!
