help with new build - no video/post

Hi guys,

Just setup my new rig.

AMD Phenom II 920
OCZ 2x2GB DDR2 1066 Memory
Radeon HD4870 1GIG
ASUS M3A78 PRO motherboard-780G chipset

Just set it all up and when I turn it on I get no signal on my monitor.
I also don't get a post beep but all the fans etc come on and power up and everything seems fine...

any idea?

All power connectors connected including the 4 or 8 pin for cpu power.
CMOS reset, sometimes works for me.

I've had this twice before - both times it was fixed by taking the CPU out and re-seating it.

try each stick of ram

imo ocz should rename to doa

tried each stick of ram seperately and then tried with no ram still no joy
then tried re-seating cpu and still nothing

i don't think the board is faulty as everything else boots up

have you tried plugging your monitor into the vga slot on your motherboard?

Yes I also removed everything apart from the cpu and ram and it still won't boot.
Could this be because it does not recognize my cpu? Will I try an old am2 to flash the bios?
Also, could it be a faulty motherboard? I have read some bad reviews about asus boards and boot problems.
