Building a PC for my friend and I'm just wondering if this final build will be fully compatible and will work well with the i7 @ 4GHz. Also would you change anything in this? Thanks

Looks good to me. Although you'd be best off with two Apaches in push-pull I think - I installed my Venomous X today with two Apaches and 80c IBT temps @ 4ghz are as high as I would want to go tbh.

Thanks for feedback. I need the bigger PSU because I want to Crossfire-X at some point. Also whats different between the Samsung and the Seagate? They have the same specs I think. I'll get another Apache then.

i would get the i7 920 (£-20) and the hx 850W (+£20)

edit: reason being, the 920 can handle 4ghz anyway and the extra 100W power will definitely come in handy with the power hungry components.

im going with the 930 because:

1. its newer :D
2. it overclocks easier/better and i think it is cooler?

plus ive done a lot of research on the net and 750W is more than enough for these components and 2 5870s. also a couple of reviews on the corsair HX 750 have said it can handle more than 750W which is weird.

If you're overclocking, it might not even make a difference, I thought the chips was exactly the same. Yea your PSU will be fine, good make too.

its not that weird, corsairs wattage rating advertised is sustained power draw, while many companies advertise the peak draw for their units.

so expect it to peak higher than 750, but blow up quickly if u try and make it sustain 750.

edit to say i agree with xBLiNG

I run a i7 setup @ 4ghz with crossfire 5850 and I pull around 480w ~ full load

3D Win mark 2006 & Prime.
