Hi all,

I want to give my son my old PC (see my sig) and then build myself something that's at least comparable, if not better. I don't want to go crazy with the cash.

Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance

Daves build is nice! You can spend less on the case, heatsink, mobo etc etc to lower the price without impacting on performance too much.

Would it not make sense to opt for a 6950? If your boy's machine requires a GPU upgrade later, you could add it to your build and Xfire it (providing the PSU you buy has enough juice) Then both machines get an upgrade for the price of one ;)

The nvidia 560ti does add cuda support if that's something you'd use. I added the link to help you compare GPUs. Good luck with the build any probs or questions you know where we are :)
