what i have done wrong??

Double check all power connections, just in case you knocked one during the CPU change and check other components.

Did the BIOS rev support the new CPU.

Thats what I am wondering, unless putting the chip in with the wrong BIOS has coursed the motherboard to throw a wobler.

You might need to check the socket for damaged pins as they can be easily damaged.

now u mention it upon marco inspection using zoom on camera (cant get decent piccy tho)there does look like one of the pins slightly out of align.
never had this issue before so what do i do now? is my board borked or is it fixable

thank god!!! its fixed.
saw the bent pin, played with sewing pin and got it straight, refit and reboot but nothing. took out cmos battery went for fag came back and it work!!!
