Hi Folks,

I'm lucky enough to have some spare cash and want to relive the youth I never had with some Cyrus kit paired with some Mission speakers.

Input sources will be:
- CD Player
- Vinyl (eventually)
- PC (For Apple Music, from Optical or USB Output) - music is mostly electronic high bpm and metal.
- TV (Stereo output from Optical)

I'm likely to get a Cyrus 8 XPD X DAC Amp, and Mission 753 speakers. I've been offered a couple of Cyrus 8 Power Amps, and this is where my questions begin.

I know I can just power the speakers off just the Cyrus 8 XPD, but I've never really considered using a dedicated Power amp for Bi Amping the speakers - and then I've been seeing about getting two of those power amps and running them as mono block (?).

Would really appreciate some thoughts on this please.

I'd start off with integrated or pre amp with single two channel amp.

Bi amping might improve it but sort of thing I'd add later .

I wouldn't buy kit that is too old ie 20 years. Amplifiers and pre amps as might need a service

Cyrus are supposed to be bright and so are mission so be careful with matching.

753 are old speakers nothing wrong with that but those with mid range speakers at best ,speakers design come along a bit.

Something like wiim amp ultra could be enough as it has digital inputs and hdmi plus room correction and streamer

However it doesn't have tons of inputs so if that's what you need then look at old school integrated or pre amp

Monoblocks are single channel amplifiers so you'd need two monoblocks for regular amping or four monoblocks if biamping.

It's really for higher end market tbh

In my hifi I've got streamer, dac, pre amp, and two stereo power amplifiers to vertically biamp

It sounds like the Power 8 Can do Stereo or Mono - so maybe get one if I'm feeling flush to biamp it - no point getting both?

8 Power

This amplifier can be used as a stereo or mono power amplifier. Used as a stereo amplifier this will deliver a solid 60 Watts per channel or in mono mode will deliver 110 Watts (8 ohms). With PSX-R upgrade option and digital protection, this amplifier offers flexibility and great performance. The 8 Power is the ideal partner for the Pre XPd. or equally it will be a perfect match to bi-amp the 8a, 8 DAC or 8 QX DAC.

These combinations sound extremely good and offer outstanding value, not only sonically, but because the 8 power is so upgradeable. It can evolve from a stereo 60W per channel (8ohms) power amp all the way through to a powerful 220W (4ohms) mono amplifier.

You may run your new amp in stereo or mono, with or without the matching PSX-R. Uniquely, this chameleon-like quality is achieved without loss of performance common with lesser bridgeable amps. Auto start and auto power down, plus built-in MC-BUS system control compatibility, make this a truly intelligent power amp, ideal for high-performance audio systems or a Cyrus-quality AV system and is uniquely flexible when systems are upgraded.
