Help with new I7 system :(

Heyy i recently upgraded to a I7 system but im having trouble installing vista its a genuine copy and all the hardrives are formatted instead when im installing this error code comes up 0x80070001. Im using corsair dominator gt 3x2gb memory, asus rampage extreme 2 and a I7 core 920 i dont understand whats going on

please help.

i7 doesn't officially support DDR1600 so perhaps try setting your memory to 1333mhz to begin with until you get everything up and running (i'm presuming your memory is 1600mhz).

Is this a service pack 1 vista ? If not you need to install vista with only 1 stick of ram in the board , then after installation download and install service pack 1 then install your remaining sticks of ram

Hey thankyou for your replies ive dropped my dram frequency down to 1333 mhz and it still did it and again and 1080mhz i doubt its going to work on 800mhz

im only using one stick of ram and its still doing it

any ideas ?

How many hard drives connected ?

it's nothing to do with ram

go to bios and make sure you've got AHCI enabled.

Also unplug all harddrives except one on which you will be isntalling the windows, and disable raid
