I'm changing position in the future and as part of this I get to choose a new job title but I don't know what to have.

I work in Infrastructure currently doing deployments and looking after the environment and our servers and will be moving in to more of a dedicated deployment role, working on building automation for deployment and many other things, working with the lead architect with a view to standardizing deployments and the environments and infrastructure related/ops stuff and some project work. Initially it was going to be a Dev Ops engineer however I don't have a dev back ground so we're going against that.

I'm going to have senior in my title but outside of that I'm not really sure, I'm currently a technical specialist.

Thanks

A guy in an almost identical role here has a job title of "Platform Manager" although not sure if that is too senior? He's not really a manager either as he's the only one in his team :p

Solutions Developer? I know you say you don't have a dev background but it sounds like you're developing solutions to me?

Infrastructure Specialist?

Senior standardizing deployments and the environments and infrastructure related/ops stuff deployments and the environments and infrastructure related/ops Engineer
I like it mate better than my girlfriend's suggestion of "Senior dick head."

That sounds pretty cool to me, both of the options you said and like the guy you know I'll be the only one in the team in the sense of the only person doing this job! See the word manager was mentioned in the meeting but the move isn't bringing any additional money, I'll have a list of goals etc to meet and what not so my plan was in 6-12 months time say I've met the goals I want to become manager and along with that get a managers salary. Thanks mate.

Senior Technical Specialist

?
I mean I know that's the most obvious one haha.

Anything with manager or specialist in the title would stand out more on a CV, than someone with engineer at the end of their title. That to me denotes someone at the level below a manager.

E.g. Quality engineer or Quality Specialist or Quality Manager; which looks more senior on paper? ;)

How about Infrastructure and Deployment Manager

Yea' I see what you mean, looks a lot better on paper. Thank you
something something God. Fits well with your name.
Yea' you're right! I should push for something with God in my title, I like your way of thinking haha.
or SSDEIROSDEIROE for short. Rolls off the tongue.
I really like that mate, I will put this straight forward now!
Senior Infrastructure and Deployment Manager?

That's cool, best of both worlds haha :D
