Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some help with a new laptop.

My MacBook Pro is on it's last legs and I'm looking for something that will allow me to do some gaming. I'd be playing Football Manager, Cities Skylines and Anno. Also be using remote play for PS4. Other uses would only be web browsing and YouTube.

Is there anything available that won't be loud when running? I'd be using it mainly on the couch while my wife watched bad tv and I see reviews of some laptops that sound like planes taking off but these are when using high ends games which I'm not too bothered about. I'm not too bothered about playing in very high settings along as they run smoothly.

Would like 15 inch screen and budgets around £1000 that could maybe be pushed to £1200.

Any suggestions welcomed

Thanks

You could ask overclockers if they could source you a Asus TUF A15 FA506IU.

FHD, IPS, 144Hz, Ryzen 7 4800H, 16GB DDR4, 1TB NVMe SSD, 6GB GTX 1660 Ti, Win10 Home and retails around £1,200.

The 4800H is on par with Intel's new I7-10750H. That's a lot of laptop for the money.

If you are worried about noise, you can undervolt both the CPU and GPU without any loss of performance.

Noise is the fans dealing with the heat, more volts = more heat = more noise.

CPUs should all have the option to undervolt, nvidia GPUs do, not so sure about AMD cards but I would expect so.
