Help with new Macbook Pro hard drive dilema

It was nothing really, if anything it makes me look a bit stupid.. lol
I didn't realise you had to use the disk utility to format a new hard drive on macs.. And when my pro didn't find the hard drive at first I got into a panic that I wouldn't be able to use the new drive..
