help with new mobo/win 7 install

I have just installed my new cpu/mobo bundle but while trying to install win7 have the following error, "a required cd/dvd drive device driver is missing".

I was going to try and install raid drivers but suddenly it worked, well almost, I get passed the part where it shows the HDD, I press "install" then it gives me "This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk, ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in computer's Bios menu".

I'm starting to get a bit lost. And mad.

did you format the hdd first?

load optimised defaults in the bios

I tried formatting but no change, I don't want to load defaults because I don't want to change the overclock.

ahh ok

just makesure the sata ports in ahci,ide is fine but ahci is better

what make and size hdd is it?

SATA mode is AHCI, LMP support is auto and S.M.A.R.T. is enabled. It is a Seagate ST1000DM003 1TB SATA 3 Hard Drive 7200rpm 64MB Cache OEM.

tried it on each sata port? idk if they are all sata3 speed or mixed sata2 and 3

SAve your overclock profile, and try at stock settings, Windows install is very intense on the system and im betting your system isn't stable, ive seen this error before with bad RAM reads and writes, trouble is half the people on this forum ive noticed don't recommend stability testing with overclocks, but this is why its so important.
