Hello,

I was just looking for some help with the spec for a new PC.

I have fortunately inherited a 4070 super so was hoping to build around that. I also have a 1440p monitor, so again don't need that.

I have a budget of about £1000 for the remaining components. The setup would mostly be for gaming.

I have had a look round the forums and it looks like a 7800x3d is recommended but quite overpriced at the moment. Would it be worth waiting for the AMD release of 9800x3d to see the impact on prices?

My current setup has died, so I don't want to wait too long before upgrading - Black Friday for example seems a while away, haha

Any advice would be great thanks!

Absolutely wait for the 9800x3d release and embargo before committing to a build.

1k for a build without a GPU is a great budget

Ideally, yeah. The price of the 7800X3D is really high right now.

Do you care about PCI-E 5.0 and USB4? If you don't, there are much cheaper B650 motherboards that would work fine for this CPU.

Would you like a 'fishbowl' case like Antec's C5, or a regular case?
