Hi All, yet another check my spec build I am afraid. I am currently looking to up date my rather old 4200 X2 system to an i7 920 based rig. I t will mainly be used for gaming and Photoshop type work. I will need to update everything apart from my current raptors, monitor mouse and keyboard. So far I have come up with this:-

Does this spec look ok? I have a few outstanding questions:-

1. I could do with a recommendation for a new graphics card. I am a currently using a 20" Dell at 1680 * 1050. Have been using Nvidia up to now but would be happy to go down the ATI route.

2. Is the power supply over kill? Guess it will depend on the graphics card? I hive been using a HX620 up till now so am happy to buy another one if its up to the job

3. If I decide to overclock can you recommend me a CPU fan / cooler?

Cheers

Andy

1) Are you planning on upgrading your monitor in the near future? If not you'll be fine with a 4870 512mb, will more than cope with anything at that res

2) Yes, tbh your 620 will prob do until you look at adding dual gfx cards to the mix

3) Not cheap and havent used personally but I'm sure this noctua would be great

Rifles has said it all really, although i would consider going for the 1GB 4870 to be on the safe side
