Hi all

Not posted for a long time but I am in need of some help. Not looked at anything PC wise for a long time due to using Macs but my Macbook pro (Feb 2008) is just not cutting it to run Age of Conan with some eye candy.

I am wanting to run AoC on my HD TV at 1920 x 1080 with most of the eye candy turned up. I will also be using it for my HD rips and some 3D work.

I have a Stacker case, spare 200Gb, HD Hiper 560w PSU already.

I need:

CPU - Intel
GFX - Nvidia
Memory - 4GB
Motherboard

Soundcard with Digital out to my amp - This can wait for now but a reccomendation would be nice.

Budget is around £500 but my girlfriend would be happier with £400 :s.

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance!

something along the lines of the following, need to make sure the stacker can take the gfx card.

Also may be worth waiting if you can as new gfx cards are due out soon.

Alternative may be to swap the processor for a 7200/8200 wolfdale/gigabyte P31 mobo/tuniq cooler which would bring the price down a bit closer to £400 to keep you're better half happy :D :

MSI GeForce 9800 GTX OC 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail £169.99 (£199.74)

Asus P5K Intel P35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £59.99
(£70.49)

G.Skill 4GB DDR2 PQ PC2-6400C5 (2x2GB) CAS5 Dual Channel Kit (F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ) £51.99 (£61.09)

Sub Total : £405.96
Shipping : £8.95
VAT : £72.61
Total : £487.52

Thanks for that, ws kind of what I was thinking of but rather the 8800GTX as I thought the 9800 was meant to be a bit of a under performer?

By the looks of it I will wait till the new cards or pick up a 8800Gt and wait for the price to come down in August.

Would a 8800 GT be able to handle 1920 x 1080? Obvsiouly no AA but I still want high settings in AoC.

Can anyone recommend a good bluetooth/wireless keyboard and mouse to purchase outside this budget? Probably £100 for both.

Thanks again
