Hi

Thought I would get a new system. It came which is sweet...but on counter-strike go, it is dead slow compared with my old one.

Old system

q6600
4gb Ram
HD3870 512 mb graphic card.

New system

AMD FX-6100
16gb ram
GT 640 2GB

Had thought intially that the problem was with the card.

However when you swap the cards around it is still the new system that has the problem.

Come to think about it, might be a problem with the HD, on the new system. This is a 1TB baracuda.

This being in that when using hyper-V, at times this was dead slow.

Any other ideas?

Was on a bit of a budget....

Went for the amd FX6100, so that I could run 5 virtual machines at once....

with the i3 would have been restricted to just 1....

Well have reinstalled the system on a different hd....could be something wrong with the hd that slowing it down maybe?

Also having steam and cs-go installed on a second harddrive...would that make a difference?

well - long term was to use the gt640 in the new computer with the FX-6100

Just reinstalled it, windows 8, on a different hd and well it is still so slow and shakey...

it ok on some games...like nfs world...but well...mmmm strange..

might be worthwhile testing windows 7...but then again windows 8 shouldnt make it crawl.....

mmmm - tried that...but didnt work

oh well, might have to bite the bullet and just play CS:go on my q6600

Might be worthwhile swapping the graphic cards over perm....if the gt640 be better than the hd3870...

Don't think that getting a newer graphic card, make any different as pretty sure the problem be down to the FX 6100.

Would it be worthwhile getting a different amd chip?

One other thing though, got an as rock n68-vs3fx...

max motherboard offically supports is 4gbx2 for 8gb.

By mistake got 8gbx2 for 16gb...would that make a difference?

well the gt640 works perfect on the q6600....

So that is why I'm thinking it is down to the cpu....

wouldnt help taking a stick of ram out, since well they meant to be 4gb and not 8gb sticks...

Works fine in other games....which is strange....but then again other games have different requirements....

might have cracked it.

done some digging around and have found this file orochi-ceg

On google it seems to fix issues with bulldozer games and fps responses.....

Haven't been able to find where it comes from or who made it...but might be worth a shot...

anyone else come across it before?
