Hey guys

Need of help my Asus gtx 980ti arriving shorty, I want to to do record Base stock comparison to an overclock.

How could achieve this and what is the best method to overclock the gtx 980ti.

I would report my findings back here if any potional buyer wants to know or ask any question from me and for community.

Hey guys should have my Asus gtx 980ti six in couple of hours just wanted to do I overclock the core first or memory, set power target to 110 and temp target to?.

What overcooking program should I use?

Also before I do the oc I want to make sure that it works and to get Base reading of, boost , memory , temp in heaven and also in benchmark.

One more question I have 144hz monitor do I keep it on 144hz and adaptive

The two programmes you are looking for are MSI Afterburner or the Asus GPU Tweak 2 utility. As to how to go about OC'ing, I'll leave that for more experienced OC'ers.

Don't forget to post up pictures and let us know your experiences with it. I have mine on order from elsewhere and don't think I will be getting this week so would be interested to hear what you think.

Increase the speed noise & up the power limit is usually a good start.

Personally I always run at 110% at least for power on all my graphics cards, this should prevent power throttling too soon, create a custom & more aggressive fan profile in MSI afterburner (1:1 ratio - so 10% fan speed for 10c heat, 50% fan speed for 50c heat etc - if
it's very quiet put the fan speed higher than the temps) & ensure your temps are fine - don't touch the volts yet as it may not be needed.

This is my setup - but note - you will NOT have to increase the clocks that high - as yours may be overclocked higher already - aim for a boost of 1450 & see how it goes & increase it from there testing stability.

At the temps you are running at your GPU will be downclocking - so increase the fan speed if it's not too loud.

elmarko this was just test to if see every thing was working at stock and to see what gpu boost i could get.

hopefully tomorrow i do some proper testing and document for you guys for my self i would need your advise and what info you are looking for.

AStaley it was pretty quite but i cant compare to others cause i haven't had many GPU.

just three gpu gtx 970 g1 and this and asus duc2 gtx 680

i will do some testing tomorrow i think i can get app that check dB not accurate but close enough.

is 1542 a good over clock added more mv increases mhz but crashes or freeze heaven.

power limit hitting 110 and temps 61.

bit confused here don't know if i m doing it right when i increase core to where its not stably, i add bit voltage but the voltage increases the mhz should lower the core down and increase the voltage.

does nvidia driver play a part in overclocking does it affect it depending on what driver your on ?
