Hello,
I dont know if I sohuld post this in gfx forum or here, but anyhow, i've been trying to overclock my 6800gs card some time ago.
It increased performance, but in gta:SA it froze after 15 minutes of playing for 5 seconds, then continued but the whole screen was filled with artifacts, wich only disappeared after turning off windows and rebooting...
Since then i was afraid to oc it, any suggestions of what settings to try.
I have a sparke 6800gs pci-express 256mb with a zalman cooler:

Temps are never above 45 when stressed, about 33 when idle if i renember correctly.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: off topic question, i cant find it in faq, whats the max. image size i can post on these forums, 800x600 or is there no limit??

Linking images like that is probably the best way to do it, or just make sure they're under 1000x1000.

Are you overclocking the ram and the core? Try just upping the core and testing until you find the upper limit (when you find artifacts go one incriment down and then test once more) then do the same for your memory.

Some games just don't like overclocks (Be them cpu or graphics) though :(

I was ocing both ram and gpu, the artifacts if i renember correctly were purple/green/grey lines all over the desktop, and purple dots all over gta SA...
The lines in desktop were all long 1 pixel lines, avrage size was about 150 by 1 pixel i'd guess, and like 50% of the screen like that, the lines itself were about 30% purp, 70% grey with occasional green dots on them, also postion of the lines changed when moving mouse, and yes im sure it wasnt vga cable as i messed around with it, it didnt fix anything...
