Im struggling to get my Q9550 over 3.5ghz, ive got a CPU host frequency of 412 and a multiplier of 8.5, any higher than this and it becomes unstable, ive set the voltages to auto and still no luck, im having trouble finding how to manually up my Vcore.

My system memory multiplier wont go any lower than 2.00, my current stable settings give a memory frequency of 824mhz, should be 800mhz. Increasing my FSB to more than 412 ups this so im not sure if this is my problem or its my Vcore voltage.

Ideas?

Thanks
Dan

it could be a voltage thing. what main board are you running? I know my q9550 needed a lot more vcore after about 3.5 and my NB volts need uping to about 1.45v. i cant get past about 3.8/9 without stupid vcore. i need 1.325v to get to 3.9. the difference between 3.5 and 3.8/9 wont be noticable.

Hi, thanks for the reply

Im running a Gigabyte P35C-DS3R board

Im running a small FFT's test with prime95, been on for 30 mins with a max core temp of 51c, runs a blend test with similar temps too so im happy with the overclock as it is.

Just heard about these cpu's running 4ghz and above so it'd be nice to get to the 4ghz mark, im a newbie to overclocking though so i may be over my head trying!
