Ive got a Asus p5w DH deluxe with a E2220 and 2gb of ram and 2 x 320gb hard drives. With a 8600 GT gfx card.

Been fine for years and now all of a sudden i get random lock ups that require a reboot.

Ive reinstalled various different operating systems, ive re seated the ram as well as the cpu and re applying arctic silver.

I even took the thing apart today and clean every spec of dust out of it and cleaned it all internally and re routed wires etc.

yet its still doing it.

Anyone with any ideas what so ever?

Thanks in advance

so you did all that and didnt check the harddrives? them being culprite number 1 of lockups etc.....id run some health checks on those and reinstall windows.
chances are they are failing.

hmm no i didnt as it happens as they have been sounding like a bag of spanners........

perhaps ill order a new one tomorrow.

ps whats the best things to do a health check on the drives.

Manufacturers DOS utility. Seatools for DOS works for all manufacturers.
Run a memtest as well, how are your temperatures?

Not necessarily, bearings do wear on hdd motors. They may whine a little more but can be 100% fine, plus a fragmented hdd might sound like a bag of spanners as well :D

blimey £410 to watch i player and check emails........is that all lol:D

Id rather try and get a bit more use out of this one tbh....
