I'm hoping you guys might be able to halp me out a little with my new rig. I've got a conroe 6600, 2*1GB of pc-6400 Geil (4-4-4-12) and an asus p5n32-e sli motherboard. I've had the machine run orthos for 3 hours at 3.375 Ghz (1500fsb) with the memory at 750 with stock timings. This is with 1.35 volts through the processor and 1.40 through the northbridge. I can also get a stable overclock at 1600 fsb with a 8x multiplier. The machine will boot into windows at 1600 and 9x but is very unstable. I increased the core voltage to 1.4 and still no joy. Does anyone have any tips or pointers, or have I reached the limits? TIA!

up the core voltage more... try upping some of the other voltages such as north/south bridge and fsb voltages, make sure you keep an eye on temps though, mine will superpi at 3.6 (400x9 + 450x8) but needs more voltage to keep it stable.. (im on the bfg 680i board though)

Yeah, just up the vcore by 0.025 and then test for stability. I've got my vcore set to 1.55 in the bios (actual is about 1.5) and I've also got the SPP at 1.5

cheers for the replies guys, what is SPP? and with 1.55v what cooling are you using? what's an acceptable temperature for this chip and which app is most reliable? I'm using speedfan at the moment.
