Hi Guys,

i've just recently got a 660ti, and i am using EVGA's precision X software. I've never overclocked a GPU before so i dont really have a clue. i've looked into a few tutorials and guides but still not much furthur forward.

Now i've heard and looked into that the main place the 660ti falls down is in games that use high amounts of memory, so OC the memory on the gpu seems like a sensible idea?

So memory clock offset starts at 0 MHZ. whats a safe number to start + it up by and how do i track its perfomance / stress test it so i can see when im starting to push it slightly too far?

or as im putting mem clock offset up should i put raising other parts aswell?

below is a screenshot of precision X software. this isnt a screenshot from my computer ( motherboard broke atm dont have access till later today when replacement arrives )

Any help greatly appreciated.

Start with 50 GPU boost and 200 on the mem and work from there. When you start to see artifacts on the screen, your memory clock is too high so back down on that a little.

Also slide the Power target as far to the right as it will go. Use patience and hopefully you have a nice clocker :)

Hey Gregster,

Is it perfectly safe to move the power target over?

Hey Gregster,

As guy above mentions, i think max is 123% i can take it too. would i be in risk of causing card to overheat.

i did set a fan graph going so has the card got hotter the fan span more. but running at max constantly would this not be a little risky?

yes it's perfectly safe, the card will downclock before it gets too hot and/or you'll get a driver reset letting you know that the overclock isn't stable - but to fix this you reduce the + GPU Core offset, not the power slider

the max the fan will run at is 85% anyway iirc, it won't let you actually run at 100%

all keplers will downclock slightly at 70C and again at 80C and it'll shut down entirely at 90C iirc

but with my 670 I found that it would become unstable over 75C anyway

Sure is, I always set the top slider to full. Andy is spot on with temps.

I would lose that signature if I was you Dunn. Not funny at all :(
