I'm just about to start OCing my 6600 and want to get it to 3.0. At the moment it is at FSB 267 and a mult of 9. to get it to 3.0 would it be best to be at 334 at Mult 9, 375 at Mult 8, 429 at Mult 7 or at 500 Mult 6?

The last board I had the mult was locked so all i'd ever change is FSB.

Thanks

Viks

I've got GeIL 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Black Dragon DDR2 Dual Channel Kit

Would i be able to get to 429FSB with that?

Is there any sort of calculator or something which can tell you how fast components can theoretically go?

Thanks for the help :)

your memory should do 533mhz (533*2 = 1066mhz frequency) FSB @ its default timmings...

with a Q6600 you will normally max temps before you hit a FSB limitations (depending on motherboard).. unless you have some hardcore cooling
