Hope someone can help
I am attempting to gain a stable overclock at 3.6 to 3.8ghz i know my mainboard has an "i win" button to 4ghz but i find the temps to be overbearing.
i7 920 D0
Gigabyte X58A-OC
8 gig ballistic tatical tracer ram 1600mhz 12800C8
coolmaster V8
ATI 7950 V2 MSI
Windows 7 64bit
I was finding when overclocking if i ran 3dmark 11it would lock up and the display driver would crash straight away. remove any overclock and it will run the benchmark flawlessly
Any advice or assistance with finding stable overclock settings would be appreciated i did find a lot of the tweaks available in regards to voltages all of them are on auto which i have found could be the culprit due to much voltage causing excessive buildup of heat on the chip
