help with pc!! turning itself off

windows xp home
its a 2800 socket a barton
512mb ram
fx5200 gfx card (i know its crap)
80 gb hd
its connected straight through to another computer using network cards and a crossover cable
basically it turns itself off randomly it could be an hour or 2 mins, its getting a bit old now so could it be the psu or is the pc useless? before it turns off it makes a beeping sound coming from the speaker inside the tower. any ideas?

how does it turn off? does it go through the set proceedures?
or just randomly cuttsoff?

does it fully shut down i.e go through the windows shut down and everything goes off or does it just reset and then boot up again

Check your temperatures... socket a Bartons can get pretty toasty. Its probably shutting down as it could be too hot

no it just shuts it self straight off, thankyou never thought it could be because of the hot weather making it over heat
