Hi All,
I'd really appreciate your thoughts on upgrading my PC. I've had it a long time now and it still works great, however Microsoft has forced my hand with Win10.

Template filled in below

Purchase Timeframe:

Next 2 months

Budget:

500-600, for motherboard and processor, however this is dependent on a few things I've mentioned in preferences and i may need to bump that budget up a bit

Usage:
Occasional gaming, title like CoH and AOE. I'm hoping to build a little future proofing in for processing power. I don't really use any intense software locally. It's mainly office and browsing outside the occasional game.
Preferences:

I'd like to re-use as much as I can especially the GTX1080 for the time being and do you guys think I should bite the bullet on DDR5 or I'd still be good for quite few years on DDR4 (I know this will affect the motherboard choice). My current motherboard has been quite good so I'd like to stick with ASUS if possible.

Current Hardware:
Origin MILLENNIUM
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz 4.00 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB
Storage 466 GB SSD Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB, 1.82 TB HDD ST2000DX001-1NS164
Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (8 GB)
System Type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Power : Corsair RM850x
Motherboard : Z170 Pro Gaming
RAM : Ballistix Elite DDR4
Cooling : I can't find any reference on the hardware , I've attached a pic
Chassis: Not 100% sure. It's badged Origin and they have been useless with helping me and I've really struggled to find the model on the web. I've attached a picture for reference

Peripherals:

I've got four USB ports on top at the front of the chassis which are quite handy I'd like to keep them, not sure how much this impacts motherboard choice though?

Special Needs/Requirements (inc Wi-Fi):

No specific software or special hardware required

thanks Micky, I'd actually been looking at the TUFF version of this model as a friend has one but they don't seem to offer much for the extra price. I'm curious why you recommend the 1TB M.2 drive, is this just for storage performance. I think if I use that it may disable one of my SATA ports for my existing hard drives

Are you happy with the performance of your pc?
If you are then I'd suggest that you don't upgrade.

Instead you can install windows 11 on your current computer with rufus.
Rufus allows you to bypass win 11 requirements and install on "non-compatible" hardware

I wasn't sure that Rufus allows the processor bypass? I know it does RAM and TPM
