Hi guys i am looking to upgrade my cpu and grapics card, atm i have a ryzen 2600,and a rx 580 4 gig,My motherboard is a tuf b450-plus gaming,
I was thinking about a ryzen 7 5800x or ryzen 7 5800x3d cpu,and a rtx 3050 6gb,What would you guys opinion be,Thanks all

Hi.

How much do you have to spend on CPU and GPU so we can get the most performance for you.

What PSU do you have and what resolution do you game at ?

The 3050 is only about 20,% faster than your Rx 580

Be better going for 5700X3D, but with the (UK) prices the 5800X is cheaper.

Don't forget to update your bios to support the newer CPU's.

Try and get something better than the 3050.

What is you budget?

Overall budget and what you’re planning on doing with it would help.

Might just be me but spending a wedge on a 5800x3d and then putting in a real budget Gpu doesn’t seem like the best balance.

5700X3D and try to budget £300 + for a GPU, a 6750XT would be a solid upgrade from what you're running and can be had for around that.

Make sure your power supply is up to snuff while you're at it.

7 years newer and like $50 difference in msrp, awesome
yeah real douche of nvidia (as usual) to label it as a 3050
massive performance difference between the 3050 8gb (which is a 1070/vega 56) and the 3050 6gb (which is a 1060/rx580) - ~30% performance difference between the two models
will deffo catch the unaware out
