Help With PHP and Wordpress

Hi, is anyone here able to help me with something on a wordpress theme that I am using with Woocommerce. The problem is, I have a product page where you add the item to the basket as normal but I would like a second button on the page where it would allow you to click "request a free sample" and it would then add a free sample to the users basket. Would really appreciate any help on this as I have very little knowledge with PHP.

Could you not do this as part of woocommerce' variations system? Adding that functionality is both a front end and backend customization job and if you have little knowledge would be quite difficult.

Thanks will play around a bit more with variations, sounds like this is my only hope.
