Hi all, doing my first ever new build purely for gaming but i'm pretty new to it. I won't be doing any manual overclocking just click and forget options like XMP and whatever the one for the the CPU is.

Here's my build:

CPU:AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor
Motherboard:Gigabyte X570 AORUS ULTRA ATX AM4 Motherboard
Storage:Intel 660p 512 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
Storage:Intel 660p Series 1.02 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
Case:Fractal Design Meshify C ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply:Corsair RM (2019) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

I'm using my 1660ti from my old rig as it was bought for me as a gift at christmas so i would feel bad to replace that right now.

My question is i'm trying to find some good comptabile ram, i've found this: G-Skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz DDR4 16-16-16-36 Model F4-3600C16D-16GTZN Ram but it's not listed as a compatible ram on my motherboards qvl list however on the gskill website apparently that ram supports my motherboard so i'm confused. Is it safe to buy that RAM or will it not work or is there some better ones i could go with?

Thanks for any help :)

Hi and welcome,

Just a friendly heads up, this forum is run by and paid for by Overclockers UK Retailer so please only use their own shop links or just list the individual parts and your budget, thanks :)

Have you already bought the rest of the parts ?

As for the Ram any DDR4 kit will work. There are too many kits for them to be able to test every single one. That G.Skill should work just fine.

The G-Skill RAM is expensive for what it is, you could get just about the same performance at half the cost - like this:
My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £83.69 (includes shipping: £8.70)

This is the Cas17 stuff and not the Cas16 as in your RAM, but for half the cost and I doubt you'll notice any differnce except probably overclocking.

I am guessing he wants RGB though. If not then the Patriot is a good choice.
