Help with playing blu-ray's on PC - no surround sound

Hi guys

having a bit of trouble, When i play normal dvd's though my pc i can get full surrround sound and the dolby light is on on the receiver, When i play blu-ray's there is no sound at all.

setup is

nvidia gtx 260 connected to hdtv using dvi to hdmi cable @ 1080p

optical connection from pc to receiver, everything in pc set to use S/PIDF

Tryed in power dvd 9 and total media theatre

any suggestions? does sound only work with hdmi on blu-rays?

Have you made sure you're selecting the right audio track? I.e. not DTS-MA or Dolby TrueHD. Though I would have thought Power DVD could extract the cure track from these.

No experience myself but those thoughts crossed my mind
