Hey guys, I'm quite new here, so forgive any misnomers and such...

But anywho, I'm splashing out on a set of Gigawork S750's and an X-Fi, got a whole bundle of cash to waste... but, I believe my room is dramatically unsuitable to position the satellites in.

So I was wondering, first, what kind of range the satellites should be from my head and secondly if ceiling mounting was an option. I've been on 2.1 before now, with a yearlong foray (unwisely) into 4.1 (the least supported surround sound ever. But hey, I was young, right?)

The main problem with my room is it has very little wall equidistant from my seat on both sides, and it's not a symmetrical floorplan.

Or I might be wrong and I'm fine... any thoughts?

Sorry, Thanks for any replies,
Jeeva

Hmm, okay. Thanks, guys.

It does support odd delays (though I'd like to avoid them if possible), but above 2 meters being the best way, with the above angles. Guess I'll figure it out. Pity Overclockers has run out of both item. =(

I was getting the speakers from another place anywho, but still. I just like Overclockers. Heh. Cheaper elsewhere, but the card is best priced here, but I want it this week, but... grrr.

Well, I only say that, it's (and I may well be wrong about this), at some points, I may change position in my room, and surely the added delay would then accentuate any problems, if anything, or at the least I'd have to reconfigure.

As I said, may well be wrong, just seems that way in my head.

Heheh, fair enough then. I'm going to try modeling my room in some software to work out the position I can mount them for the closest to the optimum positions. Should be a laugh. ;)
