Now im having 2 problems which i feel must be related.

Problem 1 - I press power button and instantly my machine cuts out. So i take out the power cable, leave it 5 seconds and pop it back in. Then it works, but i have to do this nearly every time i bootup my machine.

Problem 2 - Machine just freezes, no particular reason i can see. Boot it back up again and its fine until it does it again.

Now i have an idea this maybe a problem with my psu, but i was hoping you guys could tell me if that sounds right or what you think it might be.

Thanks in advance.

Qtec are evil, is probablly going to be your main answers.

Its either the PSU, or motherboard...

Personally, I have a problem similar, I have to literally HOLD the front power button in, then turn on the PSU for my rig to power up, after that, everything is perfect. Voltages are stable to, even when gaming.

Has it been like that for a while? I would say, try a different PSU (a friends if possible) and see.

Its just started in the last month, ill have to give another psu a try.

Oh dear, another poor victim...

Go get a proper PSU asap. You could build your own out of lego and it would be better than a Q-Tec. I recommend Antec myself.

I've never had any trouble with it in the past.
