hello im new to computers i need help with one thing

ok im gonna buy myself my first gaming pc i recently found out that 3.2ghz quad means the each processor is 3.2ghz making it 12.8ghz:eek:

i want to be able to play crysis and the processor req is 3.2ghz

so does that mean i would rape crysis with 12.8ghz
and tri-sli gtx 260s

thx dudes ;)

also if i had a 1ghz quad making it 4ghz would i still rape crysis, thx

A 3.2ghz quad is more similar to four independent processors each at 3.2ghz. It'll be quicker than a single 3.2ghz processor, but not four times quicker unless software is capable of properly multi threading. Mostly it isn't. So no, it doesn't work anything like that.

Tri sli 260gtx is going to help rather a lot with games, but is probably not the optimum.

Do not buy a computer from anyone telling you that's a 12.8ghz processor

A 1ghz quad wouldn't do very well at computer games, a 4ghz dual core does very well.

and one 285 is prob equal to tri SLI 260s, cheaper and less problematic too
you dont get quads as low as 1GHz, you dont really seem to know what youre on about, no offence meant, have a read around and look at some of the pre built systems in the shop to give youu an idea of what things are etc
If you need help this is good place to ask

They're like very expensive lego. They're really, really expensive if you don't learn anything about them before getting one though. Prebuilt ones by ocuk are the safe option

I ran a quad core at 1ghz for a while :)

i know i should learn about pcs more but its very hard as i have ADD an attention disorder:(
so very hard and i get confused:confused: easy:D
it is a pre-built system from arbico, i just need help deciding on a good pc for crysis, my budget is £700-850 been saving for 4 yrs, i hope its worth it;)

The build quality of the M one is shocking these days as far as I can make out. I've never seen the other recommended, 'great deals' probably means they're ripping you off on parts of it. Here they're made beautifully and you know every single component inside them
