Help with r9 390 installation

Try reseating it a few times, use a few of your PCIE slots just in case. Really looks like a dead card though assuming everything was connected properly.

Try different display outs if you can, if you're using DVI use HDMI or DP etc

Running the latest BIOS for your board, may just need an update ?

+1 you'll need latest bios to get the gpu working

download bios from gigabyte website extract it to a usb stick and flash through q flash

make a note of any bios/oc settings beforehand as it will reset them

unplug gpu and use your 7950 to flash the bios then install the gpu again

Hi I thought I'd jump in here to start with rather than making a new thread.

I want to buy an r9 390 & my mobo is an msi GD53 (bios 1C0) with an 15 2500k.

Will I need a bios update to run this gpu do you think?

Cheers

I suppose a rule of thumb is to not update your bios unless it's to resolve a problem so maybe I'll roll the dice & hopefully I won't have any boot issues...

Same question from me, my motherboard asrock Z77 extreme 4 , i'm running the last BIOS released ( 2.90), but that was released 7/23/2013.
Would i have any issues running a r9 390 ???

Thanks in advanced

I'd say try to install if you're getting black screens like above; then update bios

I've decided against upgrading for now. Going to wait for price drops next year & upgrade from sandybridge at the same time. Too much evidence of problems/bricked mobos for me to risk upgrading (in order to get me8 i have to upgrade to a bios that is only meant for ivybridge)

Chances are that it would be ok but I can't risk that atm.
