here's the system:

gigabyte ma785gt-ud3h onboard hd4200
amd x965 be
win7 64bit
on 32" panasonic lcd
plan to ugpgrade and crossfire with 1gb graphics card

goin to be used as an allrounder, but with shifting emphasis from browsing to gaming. (lucky me has more free time !!)

just wondering which ram i might choose on my £100-£130ish budget. do i stick to 4gb ddr3 dual channel such as:
OCZ Gold Low Voltage 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
or
G.Skill Ripjaw 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C7 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit

or do i go tri channel such as:
Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel
or
OCZ Obsidian 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600Mhz Triple Channel

not sure of benefits of tri channel (if any) over lower latencyin dual channel?

any guidance or other recommendations gratefully received

The Obsidian may be different, but personally of recent i've had quite enough of OCZ ram.
My 6GB OCZ Gold kit is now on it's third RMA, which is taking forever, leaving me once again without a computer. This time, i'm without a computer before my Computer Science degree exams, fantastic.
The timings don't seem to auto pick up correctly, which leaves a lot of people messing around in BIOS for a long time, as well as the fact that once you're past that step, it seems (From my experience so far), you'll probably find at least one duff stick and have to send them all back anyway.

I only have experience with OCZ Gold though, I am sure some of their other products are more reliable.

My advice is purely, just avoid the OCZ Gold... please!
What gurusan posted looked good, I hope you're more lucky than I was and don't end up paying postage to the Netherlands!
