Help with RAM configuration

Hi, right now i have 2 x 2GB ram sticks in my pc, i want to add extra RAM. If i add 2 x 4GB sticks now will everything still work in dual channel mode? So a total of 12GB.

Any help will be appreciated, thanks

You should have no problem doing that.

You need to add RAM which will ideally run at the same speed, timings and voltage as your current RAM.

In theory filling all 4 RAM slots can cause overclocking issues but this doesn't seem to be a big problem with Sandy Bridge.

ah thanks for the help. Worst case is that it will reset my overclock? then i should be able to overclock back to what it is now right?
