Hi,

I've recently bought some (2X1GB) RAM From overclockers UK

Link:https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-284-CS

My Motherboard is as follows: GA-8VT880P Combo (Rev 1.x) - GIGABYTE - Produk - Motherboard - Overview

My Motherboard supports 400-533Mhz of ram, the ram iv'e purchased is 667mhz i keep hearing that my motherboard should downclock my ram to 533 to match its speed but for some reason its not doing so, ive added some pictures here, to show my bios settings, where it freezez, my computer, and the RAM That i previously used that works.[/COLOR]

PLEASE IF YOU WOULDN'T MIND TAKE A LOOK AT THE ALBUM :D

any help would be GREATLY Appreciated

Hi there thanks a lot for the reply

I've Done Exactly what youve said, now heres the tricky part, for some reason i can only put 1 stick in and boot up, if i put 2 sticks in the computer wont load it will just crash,

So 1stick will work WHICH Should be 1gigabyte? but only comes up as 512mb on cpu-z or dxdiag etc.

Im starting to think overclockers sent me the wrong item?

Cheers,

Josh

Im looking at the container now, it says 2GB Memory module kit, 2x1gb module
240-Pin ddr2 Ram.

So now im really confused, 512MB In supposedly a 1gb stick, Cant start with 2 sticks only 1.

Thanks.

EDIT: If you see on the album the 4th picture, BOTH Sticks are in and its only detecting 1gb ram?

EDIT2: Im now looking at the ramsticks, in small writing it says 128mb on 8 small squares which im presuming is the memory, one ram stick adds up to 1024mb so add 2
ramsticks thats 2gig, so its got to be my computer not recognizing or faulty. Help.

hi im looking at it now, my dram voltage control is set to normal, so it will supply however much voltage is needed, im starting to get really ****ed off as to why this wont work, wether its my motherboard, the ram, or maybe the slot the ram goes into,

Any other ideas?

Many thanks
Josh

EDIT: Just booted up again one of my occuring Problems is the file is possibly corrupt. the file header checksum does not match the computed checksum,

Does this mean anything to you guys?

it says on the bios setting "normal will supply whatever DRam voltage is needed to run", and it says nothing but the file checksum is corrupt etc.

i tried the +0.1v, no difference unfortunately

:L

thanks

Yeah as soon as i put the old ram back in boot up fine, everything perfect,

Just the new ram that causes problems,

i tried lowering the dram clock still no difference i went to 400 then 333 nothing happened

thanks for your effort

any other ideas?

yeah im not trying to run them together mate, i think i might just give up and buy some different sticks of ebay or something, thanks for your effort and help :D
