Help with Red Alert 3.

Hi,

I bought Red Alert 3 today and installed with no problem.

However it freezes everytime it gets to the main menu, (this happened when i clicked "ok" on the message informing you about the star at the top).

I had to ctrl+alt+del out and then restarted the game, this time i checked the "do not tell me again" box and then clicked "ok" - froze again.

Now when i load i don't even get the menu, i get a blank black screen with just the star in the top right. (The music is still there)

I have a feeling the problem is its trying to connect to the internet however i'm at uni and all games are blocked online. I've had another game recently just freeze when trying to connect to the internet, however that game didn't try and connect automatically (it was only when i manually tried) - so at least i could access single player!

Is there any way to make sure the game doesn't try to connect to the internet other than just taking out my ethernet cable (which I'll try).

give it a few mins.

firt time i had to wait 2 mins looking at the black screen.

this reduces to 15 secs once you set up the ea account within the game.

Had this problem myself, first time it froze indefinately, couldnt even alt tab or anything, designed stupidly i guess First time was my firewall catching it tho, couldnt even alt tab to allow the access..

If you use a software firewall you can configure it to deny access to the internet, worked for me... course ill have to allow it when i want to play multiplayer but ill finish the campaigns first

Try updating to patch 1.03
