I have, or rather had a Qpad MK-85 that I really liked. It met an unfortunate end with a liter of coke and I need a replacement -.-

I've dug out my old Logitech G15 as a temporary replacement, and oh my god how I hate using a membrane keyboard again.

So - I loved the Qpad. It had reds and they seemed to suit me just fine. The backlighting was red, and that's something I wish to retain, although it doesn't need to be red. The Qpad had full rollover over usb (one of the first to have this I think?). It had a few programmable macros, although they were crap compared to this old G15 I've dug out lol.

I did have an issue with mine with the backlight flickering, and a search seems to highlight a few other people with this problem.

A replacement is about £95. Should I stick with a replacement Qpad or is it worth looking at something else?

Any help appreciated. Cheers.

There are a plethora of mech keyboards you can choose from, it depends if you want to stay with a more gaming oriented board or not i guess.

Some brands to have a look at would be Ducky, Filco, Das etc although they aren't gaming oriented, those would be CM Storm, Corsair, SteelSeries etc.

For £95 i'd personally get with a more reputable brand of mech =]

I had the same keyboard with Cherry MX Blues and loved it... mine was a few glasses of wine before it went kapput.

I pre-ordered the Steelseries M800 and couldn't get on with it... the feel of it reminded me too much of old membrane keyboards (like the G15 you mention) and I just didn't like using it... so I think you wouldn't like that much either + it's over your budget anyway.

Qpads seem in short supply at the moment.

I tried a couple more keyboards and ended up keepinga Corsair K70 (non-RGB) with Cherry MX Blues.

I think the blues are the best for feel... although one of the louder ones - you get used to the noise, it's not that bad... the feel is by far the best though - you should try it.

The Corsair RGB keyboards have crappy backlighting, if you like the backlighting - don't waste your money.

The non-RGB boards have much brighter/clearer lighting... so aim for one of those.
