Hi there. I have just decided that I wish to start running again, after having about a year out through an injury. An injury which I am pretty sure I caused by not running in the correct footwear, and not warming up! So could someone help me, I need some running shoes, and have just looked through prodirectrunning, but I don't have a clue! Good brands to look out for etc, bad ones. Could someone recommend me a pair, not over £40 really!

Forget brands for now. Nobody on a forum could really recommend a pair. You need to find the correct shoe for you. You can have a stab by determining you foot type from a 'wet test' and chosing a shoe accordingly. You'll probably then be able to find a decent pair in last years design/colours on the internet within your budget.

There's a bit of info on choosing shoes here: http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/news/article.asp?UAN=481

It might be worth going along to a shop that will put you on a treadmill (I know most Sweatshops offer this) to do a bit of analysis if you have had problems in the past - although this might lead to spending a little over your budget. If you are lucky then they might have some last season shoes which they'd do you a deal on.
