So my phone (galaxy note) keeps rebooting, it gets to the samsung logo screen then reboots and its driving me nuts, ive downloaded the ICS firmware 4.0.4 file so i can reinstall ICS and I need to put it on my SD card but I dont have a micro SD card reader

anybody know a way to get the phone to work or get the file on the SD without a reader :( ?

Thanks

can you get into the recovery menu?

just wipe cache partition and dalvik cache see if that works. if not you could try factory reset in same menu

I cant see the SD card no, I can get into recovery mode but if I wipe everything I will lose my data, I havnt backed it up in a few weeks.

would clearing the cache delete any of my data?

no the first two don't only the factory reset will.

i don't have a clue what they do but if i flash a rom on my sgs2 and its being odd that's what i do.

or if its being odd. after a few weeks it can sort it out.

factory reset will not delete your pics i don't think. doesn't do on my phone so i would expect it to be the same.

clearing cache didnt work

But the factory reset deletes apps and app data?

Im going to try and source a micro sd reader and if that doesnt work ill just do the factory reset.

Thanks for the reply.

yes you will loose all apps and app data.

will kies not work in download mode? never used kies so i don't know if you do it that way or not. could back up your phone then

Yes thats the website! I used that last time this happened but I actually deleted the bookmark a couple days ago and couldnt find it today!

Thank you very much!

ok thats all my apps gone but my phone is working, since its pretty much like its new does anyone know how to completely re-install the phone as if it was straight out the box, im talking deleting everything and just having the official ICS on it only?

If you installed a stock firmware using odin and also factory reset then it should be already. (Except your SD card of course)

I did that yes but my images are still there and whatsapp backups and some application folders so only my apps got deleted, I want to completely start over.
