Hey guys,
Replacing my 40" Samsung (40D6530) this week, it's a few years old now and although there's nothing really wrong with it, I love the picture and it has all the features I need, it's just a bit too small now.
I'm set on a 55" model as it's the perfect size for my living room now we've moved it all around. Trouble I'm having is that I'm just lost with all the models available at that size. I kind of get the model numbers by series, 6/7/8 etc but no idea whether getting a 7 is worth it over the 6, and then if I stick to a 6, what are the differences between 6500 or 6570 and then 6740 etc.
For example, I've seen this 8 series TV (http://pricespy.co.uk/product.php?p=2542342) which I like, but it's less than some of the more basic 6 series models, so makes me think "Why? What am I missing?", or is it just an older model?
I'm going to be using it mainly for Sky HD and my Xbox One. I'd like all the catch up services (BBC, ITV, 4OD and 5OD), I know I have Sky but they are always nice to have. I'm not particularly keen on a curved screen but it's not a deal breaker and really not fussed on 4K given the lack of content right now. I just want the best picture possible really, which is what we all want from a TV purchase
Oh and WiFi built in which is probably standard now anyway
Budget is £1000 max but obviously, I don't HAVE to spend all that
Any help you can give me will be very much appreciated guys! Hoping to buy this week.
Thanks
