Broadly speaking you are trying to get all your ducks in a row in three areas:
1)
how organised your music library is on the host PC
If your files are scattered all over the place then any streaming device is going to have a hard time accessing those files
2)
the settings that allow the files to be shared and your PC to be accessible as a server to another device
This is your UPnP settings, firewall settings, and the right paths to your (tidy and concise) media library
3)
the wireless communication channels
This one is a bit of a stumbling block because wireless is invisible. Wireless isn't unlimited. If your neighbours are using the same or similar channel numbers to your then there will be a conflict. It's the same with devices in your own home (and your neighbours) that also use the free-to-use wireless spectrum: Cordless phones, wireless baby monitors and CCTV kits. Video senders. Bluetooth devices etc etc.
If your Roberts has a network port then get hold of an Ethernet cable and get everything working with a direct connection. That'll tell you if you got the network share and library stuff right. Once you have things running smoothly over a wired connection then you can switch to wireless.
In order to "see" what wireless channels are being used in your area download the free utility called
inSSIDer. If you and your neighbours both have your routers set to the same channel and the signals are of similar strength then your wireless connection for streaming will be pretty patchy.
Before you do any of this though you should make sure your radio is running the latest firmware/software and that your copy of Windows is up-to-date with service releases and patches.
